It's got one of the coolest interfaces of any plug-in I've ever seen. I will say that I always think the best and most authentic sounding way to get deep distortion sounds is by using the real thing, but when not possible, this plug-in will certainly come in handy. While not my favorite plug-in in the bunch of Amp Room plugs, the Softube Metal Amp Room is still a nice tool for those who are looking for some heavier distorted guitar sounds inside the box.

Since we're running Pro Tools HD and an incredibly powerful computer, we very rarely have performance issues and for this reason it's hard to say how well this plug-in would run on an LE system. All of them are Pro Tools HD based, but the A room has Mac Pro desktop that has dual 2.66 Ghz Intel Xeon processor and 10 GB of RAM. Btw, I do like the Bass Amp but I have none real to compare.Softube's Metal Amp Room is an amp modeling piece of software that comes in a bundle of these Amp Room plug-ins. It needs to be cheaper to help the decision. So it's not an immediate must buy, not bad but not a replacement by a long shot.
